Trunks
First, one of the DBZ's most important characters, he is the son of Vegeta and Bulma.
Future Trunks comes from the future (of course), when Androids 17 & 18 kill all of the Z warriors and cause havoc all over the Earth. Future Trunks is trained by Gohan (in the future), the only surviving warrior (until the Androids kill him, that's why Future Trunks traveled to the present).
Upon arriving in our timeline, he easily kills Freeza and King Cold. He keeps his identity secret from everyone, except for when he tells Goku to preserve his existence. Future Trunks carries a sword given to him by Tapion. Trunks (in the present time) is best friends with Goku's second don, Goten. Trunks is a little stronger than the younger Goten (1 year difference). He too was easily able to transform into a Super Saiyan, which surprised and angered Vegeta a little, as did Gohan with Goten.
Determined to avenge his father's death, Trunks attempts to master the fusion technique (with Goten) and defeat Buu. In Dragon Ball GT, Trunks neglects training and work because he sees them as too boring. However, when the black star dragon balls are sought after, he unwillingly joins Goku (and Goten) in the search.
